ShiftSupport – Worker Rule Book (2026 Edition)
A simple guide for all helpers working short shifts through the ShiftSupport platform.
1. Introduction
Welcome to
ShiftSupport!
We connect local helpers with local shops for short, flexible shifts. This rule book explains how to work safely, respectfully, and professionally while representing ShiftSupport. Our goal:
✔ Support local retailers
✔ Provide quick, reliable help
✔ Create positive experiences for everyone involved
2. General Expectations
All helpers must follow these standards:
Be reliable
Arrive on time (5–10 minutes early recommended). If you are running late, inform the retailer
and ShiftSupport immediately. Never abandon a shift early without approval.
Be professional
Be polite, friendly, and attentive. Avoid phones except for job-related communication. Follow instructions exactly; ask questions if unsure.
Be safe
Use proper lifting techniques. Do not operate machinery unless specifically trained and approved. Report unsafe conditions immediately.
Be honest
Log your hours accurately. Do not take tips, gifts, or merchandise unless the retailer offers and it complies with local rules. Never claim work you didn’t perform.
3. Appearance & Conduct
Dress code
Wear clean, neat clothing. Closed‑toe shoes are required for all shifts. Bring gloves if the job description mentions light physical tasks.
Behavior
No swearing, harassment, discrimination, or aggressive tone. Maintain customer-friendly behavior when working in public areas. Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited before or during shifts.
4. Communication Rules With the retailer
Introduce yourself upon arrival. Confirm tasks before starting. Notify them when tasks are completed. Ask for clarifications instead of guessing.
